For many years I have sewn my own clothing, and like many other paths, it has led me down a splendid rabbit hole, diving deeper into my understanding and craft of slow fiber. I now spin wool (the bulk of it locally sourced), weave, and have also starting exploring dyeing with plant-based dyes on an open fire. The entire process has become a beautiful meditation and connection with the sources that cloth us.
I love that this work connects us to a sense of place (the animals and plants that grew the fiber and dyes were fed by the sun, water, and earth), and that this work is wearable, and compostable!
Currently, my offerings are shawls, purses, and necklaces.
These wares will be available with Local Cloth at the Big Crafty this December 7th and 8th.
